The Rain Update/Birthdays

Just to reassure you and ourselves that we haven't forgotten about the blog... Since returning from Virginia, we have had rain everyday. The river is rising and there is flooding in areas and it has put a damper on our projects around the house - not to mention we haven't seen temperatures over 50 degrees in a while. Sandra's garden is steadily coming along despite the rain and we are enjoying lettuce, zucchinni and a variety of herbs. Keats is steadily picking the pea pods clean and for lunch will fill himself up on fresh food from the garden: carrots, lettuce, peas and strawberries when they are available. I go back to work next week ending another summer, but we are looking forward to getting the dogs out for four-wheeler training soon.

Keats and Sandra are now officially another year older (for those of you who don't know, they share the same birthday) and Keats enjoyed his cake and hats and having "Happy Birthday" sung to him over and over so he felt justified in blowing out his candles. We had a nice day with the family and even had a little break in the rain for a small fire to warm ourselves.

My sister, Tobi, and her husband, Ben, welcomed Virgina Rose and Paige Madison Rowland on June 27, 2008. Both girls are doing very well and Keats is very excited to have two young cousins. Keats is fantastic with babies and did a great job holding them and smiling nicely for the number of photo flashes he and his cousins endured.
